Nigeria isn't broken.
It's waiting.

I want to start with a number. 26.7%. That's how many Nigerians voted in 2023 — the lowest turnout this country has recorded in over forty years. And before you conclude that Nigerians don't care, look at the registration data. They registered. In record numbers. They just didn't show up.

That gap between registration and participation is where INP lives. It's the gap between a citizen who wants change and one who believes their vote can actually produce it. Closing that gap is the entire point of this project.

We're not here to tell you who to vote for. We're not a political party, we're not aligned with any candidate, and we're not funded by anyone who wants something from your ballot box. What we are is a civic organisation with a clear, measurable mandate: increase voter participation by at least 15% by the 2027 general elections, and build the kind of accountability culture that outlasts any election cycle.

The Independent Nigerians Project targets the citizens democracy has historically overlooked — youth, women, first-time voters, and persons with disabilities. It runs across nine priority states chosen by evidence, not politics. And it doesn't end on election day. We'll be tracking what leaders deliver against our 10-point agenda long after the results are announced.

Nigeria's democracy has survived 26 years since 1999. It can do better than 26.7%. I'm certain of that. Join us.
